George & Mildred McKenzie bring their own special personalized service to families
They believe a funeral is similar to other ceremonies in our lives. Like a graduation ceremony, a wedding, a baptism, a funeral is a rite of passage by which we recognize an important event that distinguishes our lives.
Every one of us in unique in our own special way, each relationship we share is different in some small way. All of these characteristics, whether it be funny, compassionate, hardworking, annoying, loving and a zest for life; is what George & Mildred try to bring to each funeral or gathering, and you can often hear them saying;

so no two gatherings or funerals should be the same"
George & Mildred want families to know that they do more than just take care of their loved ones with dignity and respect. They try to be a resource, the community can look to for guidance and help in difficult situations.
The McKenzie Family has been in the Funeral Profession since 1946 with Don McKenzie working in a funeral home in Vancouver when he met Jessie. They married in 1948 and then went on to work and eventually to buy Hollyburn Funeral Home in West Vancouver. Don & Jessie started George in the business at the age of 14 answering phones and helping his Dad on services. George then went on to B.C.I.T. where he received his Diploma & License as a Funeral Director & Licensed Embalmer and received the "Professionalism Award" for his class year.
